This privacy policy describes how we collect, use, disclose, and otherwise handle your Personally Identifiable Information, or “PII” collected through our website helloyumi.com (the “Site”).

1. Information we collect through our Site.

Profile Information

You may choose to provide us with the following information in order to create an account and make a purchase through the Site (collectively, “Profile Information”):
  • your name, email address, phone number, and shipping address (so we can provide you with the products and services you have requested).
  • your child’s birth date and nickname so we can display the appropriate menu for your child.
Providing your Profile Information is optional and is not required in order to browse the Site. You can change your Profile Information at any time by logging into your account or by contacting support@helloyumi.com.

Payment Card Information

You may also provide your payment card information so that we may provide you with the goods and services you have requested. Yumi uses a third party payment processor and does not retain full payment card information in our systems. You can change or delete your payment card information at any time by logging into your account or by contacting support@helloyumi.com.

Technical Data

When you visit our Site, our servers may automatically log the standard data provided by your web browser. It may include your computer’s Internet Protocol (IP) address, your browser type and version, the pages you visit, the time and date of your visit, the time spent on each page, number of clicks on a page, and other details regarding your interactions with our Sites. We store this data through use of cookies, pixels, or other similar technologies which you can control by adjusting the permissions within your browser or device operating system. However, if you set your browser to disable certain technologies, such as cookies, some features of the Site may not function properly.
We also may also collect data about the device you are using to access our Site. This data may include the device type, operating system, unique device identifiers, device settings, and geo-location data. What we collect can depend on the individual settings of your device and software. We recommend checking the policies of your device manufacturer or software provider to learn what information they make available to us. Technical Data are not generally considered to be PII unless they are independently capable of identifying a consumer, household or device, or they are combined with other PII elements that are capable of identifying a consumer, household or device.

Survey Responses

From time to time, you may choose to participate in open or anonymous customer satisfaction surveys or other market research efforts. If the survey is anonymous, your responses will not be combined with your Profile Information and will not be considered PII under this Policy. However, if your email address or other contact information is provided with your response, we will treat your responses as Personal Information under this Policy.

2. Our use of your PII.

We use your PII in the following ways:
  • To process your transactions and provide you with the products and services you have requested.
  • To respond to your customer service requests and to communicate with you regarding your orders or other products and services (you can unsubscribe from marketing messages at any time).
  • To develop, provide, support and improve the Site and our services and offerings.
  • To personalize your experience and to allow us to deliver the type of content and product offerings in which you are most interested, including targeted offers and ads through our Site and third-party sites as more particularly described below.

3. Our disclosure of your PII.

We do not currently sell, trade, share or otherwise transfer your PII to third parties for their own direct marketing purposes. However, we may share your PII in the following circumstances:
To Affiliates & Business Transactions. We may disclose your information among our related affiliate entities or pursuant to a merger, acquisition, or other transaction resulting in a change of control or a sale of substantially all of the assets of our business or of a particular product line or division of our business, in which your case PII may become subject to the privacy policy of another entity.
To Vendors & Service Providers. We may disclose your information to our third party service providers, including, without limitation, IT service providers, analytics platform providers, marketing or advertising providers, professional advisors, and payment systems operators, with the understanding that these third parties will use your PII solely in their capacity as a service provider and in accordance with this Privacy Policy.
For Legal & Compliance Purposes. Lastly, we may disclose your information to authorized third parties if we believe we are required to do so in accordance with applicable law, to respond to a lawful request by a public authority, or if we believe that such disclosure is necessary or appropriate to protect our rights, safety, or property or the rights, safety and property of others.

4. Security.

We use commercially acceptable means to keep your PII secure and to prevent unauthorized access, or disclosure. That said, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure and we cannot guarantee absolute data security.

5. Cookies & other tracking technologies.

We use cookies, web beacons, session replay/screen capture, and other similar technologies to collect Technical Data as described in Section 1 above.
You can choose to have your computer warn you each time a cookie is being sent, or you can choose to turn off all cookies. You do this through your browser settings. Since every browser is a little different, look at your browser’s Help Menu to learn the correct way to modify your cookies.
However, if you turn cookies off, some of the features of our Site may not function properly.
Advertisers may also use technologies like cookies and web beacons to enable them to recognize your computer each time they send you an advertisement even when you are visiting another site. As a result, the advertiser would have the ability to deliver targeted advertisements that they believe would be of most interest to you. We do not have access to or control of the cookies that may be placed on your computer by third-party advertisers.
You can opt-out of receiving targeted ads from advertisers and ad networks that are members of the Network Advertising Initiative (NAI) or who follow the Digital Advertising Alliance’s Self-Regulatory Principles for Online Behavioral Advertising by visiting the NAI Website and the DAA Website.

Specific Tracking Technologies

  • Google. We use Google Analytics, Google AdSense Remarketing, Google Display Network Impression Reporting, Google Demographics and Interests Reporting, which use first-party cookies (like the Google Analytics cookies) and third-party cookies (like the DoubleClick cookie) to compile Technical Data. You can learn more about the information that is shared with Google Analytics here and opt-out of Google Analytics by installing their browser add-on here. We also use Google Custom Match Ads which allow us to personalize our ads that you are served with by providing your email address to Google in hashed form. You can opt-out of Google Match Ads from us by visiting the NAI and DAA websites linked above.
  • Facebook. We use Facebook Custom Audiences which allow us to personalize our ads that you are served with by providing your email address to Facebook in hashed form. You can opt-out of Facebook Custom Audiences ads from us by adjusting your privacy and advertising account settings within Facebook.
  • Microsoft Bing. We use the Universal Event Tracking (UET) feature within Microsoft’s Bing search engine. Please see the Microsoft Privacy Statement for more information.

6. Third-party links.

Our website may link to external sites that are not operated by us. Please be aware that we have no control over the content and policies of those sites, and cannot accept responsibility or liability for their respective privacy practices.

7. Changes to this Privacy Policy

At our discretion, we may change our privacy policy to reflect current acceptable practices. We will take reasonable steps to let users know about changes via our website. Your continued use of this site after any changes to this policy will be regarded as acceptance of our practices around privacy and PII.

8. Miscellaneous

The Sites are general audience websites that are not directed to children younger than 13. We do not knowingly collect PII from children under the age of 13. If you believe we may have collected PII from your child on the Sites, please contact us and we will make reasonable efforts to delete it from our records, when required by law. California’s “Shine the Light” law permits California residents to request certain information regarding our disclosure of PII to third parties for their direct marketing purposes. However, we do not currently disclose PII to third parties for their direct marketing purposes.
